WELCOME BACK TO 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR
What Will You Learn in 6th Grade Social Studies
Sixth grade Social Studies is a course that centers on the physical and human geography of Europe, Australia, Latin America and Canada, as well as the political, cultural, economic, environmental and historical aspects of life in those regions. These regions and topics are outlined in the Clayton County Public School Curriculum as well as the Georgia Public Standards of Education.

Students will also further mapping skills as they interpret and analyze maps and graphs that pertain to the aforementioned regions as we explore them throughout the year.
Students will experience integrated activities that invite exploration, academic extensions, creativity, and real-world connections, with a wide range of activities designed to enhance their active lifestyles.
This class will provides young minds the opportunity to think creatively, build important social and presentation skills, and develop a crucial skill set to approach problems or challenges from multiple angles.
This course will bring current events/scenarios to the classroom in relations to our past history.
The mission of North Clayton Middle School is to be the foundation of excellence by holding students to high expectations and equipping them with essential skills to be universally competitive and to become productive assets to society.
