Classroom Expectations

To ensure a positive, productive and enjoyable learning experience for all participants, it is important that all students and parents/guardians adhere to these Expectations, which include online behaviors for students and privacy guidelines for parents.

In-School Expectations

​

  •          Be on time. Quietly enter the classroom and follow all classroom procedures.

  •          Be Respectful!  Respect yourself, fellow classmates, all adults, property and your environment.

  •          Unpleasant words are not tolerated-We will practice using our kind words only.

  •          Be Responsible!  Come to class prepared to learn each day!

  •          Keep your hands, feet and other objects to yourself.

  •          Silence and put away electronic devices (cell phones) unless ask by the teacher to retrieve the item(s).

  •          Participate when it is requested or required. It promotes a learning environment.

  •          Assignments are expected to be on time when given a specific day of completion.

  •          Say, Ask, Tell- If you don’t understand, SAY it- Have a question, ASK it-If you know the response, TELL it.

  •          Listen and follow directions!

Behavioral Expectations for Students Virtual

Students at all levels are now engaging in virtual class check-in sessions on Google Meet. To ensure a positive and productive learning environment during these sessions, it is important that all students adhere to the following behavioral expectations.

  • Always be respectful and courteous to other students and teachers during Google Meet virtual check-in sessions.

  • Inappropriate, offensive or threatening comments; misrepresentation of identity, and/or disruptive behavior by any participants during Google Meet virtual check-in sessions will not be tolerated.

  • Students must use their CCPS email account to log into a Google Meet virtual check-in session.

  • Login credentials must not be shared.

  • Sharing of login information violates other students’ and teachers’ rights to confidentiality, and could allow class participation by unauthorized persons and/or lead to disruptive behaviors that detract from a productive and positive learning environment.

  • Be on time and ready to learn. 

  • Don't eat or drink near your computer. 

  • Create a quiet workspace. 

  • Keep other devices off during class time. (Cellphones, etc)

  • Dress Appropriate- No hair bonnets, wraps, hoodies 

  • Turn the camera on and participate in class sessions

  • Check your google classroom daily and turn in assignments on time

To maintain a positive, productive learning environment and assure confidentiality for students and teachers during distance learning, all parents/guardians are asked to follow the following privacy guidelines.

​

Google Meet virtual check-ins are designed for students. To prevent disruptions to the learning environment, parents/guardians should not actively participate in check-in sessions, although parents/guardians may assist their child with technology and/or remain nearby.

  • Do not video record, audio record, photograph, live stream, or transmit in any other way any part of a Google Meet virtual check-in, including not posting on any social media platform.

  • Any confidential or personally identifiable information related to students participating during Google Meet virtual check-ins should not be collected, discussed or shared.

  • Parents/guardians should not engage with students during Google Meet virtual check-ins. If you need to speak with your child during a check-in session, first mute your child’s microphone.

  • If parent/guardian have any questions, please feel free to email me.

If a scholar CHOOSE to break a in school-classroom rule:

 

  • First Offense: Warning

  • Second Offense: Silent lunch and parent/guardian notification.

  • Third Offense: Silent lunch, complete Behavioral Self-Assessment, and parent/guardian notification.

  • Fourth Offense: Detention; complete Behavioral Self-Assessment, and parent/guardian notification.

  • Fifth Offense: Office referral, complete Behavioral-Self Assessment, and parent/guardian notification.

*Severe Offense/Disruption: Immediate referral to office. *

 

All unacceptable behavior is documented in infinite campus for administration view.-Parents will received a written and verbal communication notification if second-fifth offense occurs.  

 

** Behavioral Plan of Action**

​

  • First Offense: Warning

  • Second Offense:  Parent/guardian notification.

  • Third Offense: Online Rethink My Actions Class; Student will be required to complete an independent class session with the teacher- complete Behavioral Self-Assessment, and parent/guardian notification

  • Fourth Offense: Complete Behavioral Self-Assessment, Parent/guardian notification, Referral to Office

Student & Parent Conferences

​

Each semester a student-parent conference is held. The purpose of this conference is to discuss the students' progress and future expectations. The teacher will be notify parents by email or telephone regarding the time and date. 

​

I have a Open Door Policy.  Students, Parents and others who wish to contact me, I can be reached by Email, Google Meet, Google Classroom Messenger and  Telephone. Leave a message and I will respond within 24 hours.
